sea birds that look for their cages
traps that keep their jaws wide
walk into unforgiving places
planting trees still breathing seething
the skys still milk and like your eye
the light falls on most of the leaves
and despite decisions poorly thought of
i shape the next word and the next time and
you look for open eyes in circles
